Ukraine’s drone forces have launched a decisive strike against five vessels operating in the Sea of Azov and coastal waters held by Russian forces.
According to Ukrainian drone commander Robert Brovdi, these ships were engaged in the illegal transport of stolen Ukrainian grain, fuel, and military supplies, often operating with obscured names and disabled radar to evade detection.
While the Azeri foreign ministry confirmed five of its citizens were killed in attacks on two of these vessels, the operation underscores Ukraine's commitment to crippling the logistics supporting Russia's illegal occupation.
This tactical offensive comes as President Volodymyr Zelensky’s latest attempt to secure a ceasefire and direct talks with Vladimir Putin was flatly rejected by the Kremlin. Putin, currently attending an economic forum in St.
Petersburg, continues to demand that Ukraine surrender sovereign territory as a prerequisite for peace—a non-starter for a nation defending its borders against an unprovoked invasion. Meanwhile, the conflict continues to spill over borders, with a Ukrainian naval drone self-detonating near an oil terminal in the Romanian port of Constanta.
Kyiv attributed the incident to Russian electronic interference that knocked the drone off course. As the war enters its fifth year, the human cost remains high, with Russian strikes on civilian infrastructure, including a dairy factory and a petrol station, resulting in at least 13 deaths and dozens of injuries in the past day alone.
Despite the mounting pressure, Ukraine remains firm: ceding territory to a regime that has repeatedly violated international law is not an option.
