The Israeli military continues its necessary campaign to dismantle Hezbollah’s terror infrastructure in southern Lebanon, conducting air strikes on Tuesday that targeted hostile combatants.

While Lebanese officials and international critics are quick to label these operations as war crimes, they conveniently ignore the reality that Hezbollah—an Iranian-funded militia—initiated this conflict and continues to violate ceasefire terms by launching rocket and drone attacks against Israeli forces and northern communities.

The Israeli military maintains that its actions are a direct response to these provocations and are protected under the broad self-defense provisions of the current ceasefire agreement, which allows Israel to neutralize imminent threats at any time.

The reality of this conflict is that Hezbollah embeds itself within civilian areas, turning rescue operations and urban centers into potential battlegrounds.

While three members of the Lebanese Civil Defense were killed in the strike, the Israeli military has consistently emphasized that its objective remains the destruction of Hezbollah’s military capabilities to secure its northern border.

Israel has also reported the loss of its own personnel, including a civilian contractor killed by a drone strike on Tuesday, underscoring the lethal nature of the threat posed by Hezbollah.

As Israel works to establish a security buffer zone to protect its citizens, it remains clear that the responsibility for the ongoing violence lies with the terror group that refuses to lay down its arms.
