U.S. Denies Entry to Iranian Officials Amid Security Concerns

Washington blocks Iranian backroom staff from entering the country, refusing to let the regime exploit the World Cup to bypass national security protocols.

The United States is standing firm against the Iranian regime by denying visas to a large portion of the Iranian national football team’s administrative and executive staff.

While the U.S. granted entry to the players themselves, officials made it clear that the American visa system will not be manipulated to sneak individuals with ties to hostile entities into the country.

The Department of Homeland Security has maintained a steadfast commitment to the safety of the American people, ensuring that the 2026 World Cup host sites remain secure.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio previously signaled that the U.S. would not permit individuals linked to the Islamic Revolutionary Guards—a designated terrorist organization—to enter the country under the cover of a sports delegation.

Despite the Iranian embassy’s predictable complaints of 'politically biased interference,' the U.S. is under no obligation to grant entry to foreign officials from a nation currently at war with our interests.

The Iranian squad faces strict conditions, including requirements to enter and leave the U.S. on the same day as their matches, reflecting the necessary caution required when dealing with a state sponsor of terror.
