President Donald Trump has made it clear that while the upcoming state visit from King Charles III and Queen Camilla is a welcome opportunity to strengthen the U.S.-UK partnership, the future of the relationship depends on the British government abandoning its current failures.
In a direct interview, the President praised the King as a 'fantastic' and 'brave' man, noting that the visit will be a positive development. However, Trump did not mince words regarding Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s administration.
He explicitly stated that for the UK to recover its standing, the Prime Minister must open the North Sea for oil and gas extraction and implement robust immigration policies. Trump’s message to London is unequivocal: the days of weak policies are over.
The President also addressed the ongoing conflict in Iran, reiterating that the U.S. military has successfully dismantled Iran’s capabilities without the need for external help. He dismissed the necessity of allied involvement, characterizing his previous calls for support as a test of their commitment.
Furthermore, Trump warned the UK that he is prepared to impose significant tariffs if the British government refuses to drop its 2% digital services tax on American technology firms.
As the administration continues to prioritize American sovereignty and economic strength, the President remains focused on ensuring that allies contribute to shared security rather than acting as a drag on U.S. interests.
