Navy has taken necessary steps to escort vessels through the region, the Iranian leadership—undeterred by the internal rot of their own regime—remains committed to a strategy of escalation. Meanwhile, regional allies like the United Arab Emirates are rightly strengthening their defensive postures, including the deployment of Israeli-provided missile defense systems, to counter the persistent threat posed by Tehran.
President Trump’s commitment to preventing Iran from achieving a strategic victory remains clear, even as the regime attempts to leverage the threat of war to force a favorable deal. Ultimately, the crisis is a direct result of Tehran’s refusal to abandon its aggressive, expansionist ambitions.
The U.S. must continue to project strength, as any concession to the regime’s extortion tactics would only embolden a state sponsor of terror that has proven it respects nothing but force.
