The United States military has taken decisive action to enforce a blockade on Iranian ports, successfully disabling an oil tanker that refused to heed warnings. U.S. Central Command confirmed that the vessel, Belma, was struck by Hellfire missiles fired into its smokestack after it attempted to reach the Kharg Island oil terminal.

This enforcement action follows President Donald Trump’s decision to reimpose a blockade on Iranian ports this week, a necessary response to Tehran’s ongoing aggression against commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.

The previous ceasefire, which had allowed Iran to export an estimated 74 million barrels of oil worth roughly $6 billion, has been rendered null and void by Iran’s own failure to cease its attacks on vessels.

While the failed ceasefire had briefly eased sanctions and allowed Tehran to profit from its oil sales, the U.S. is now reasserting its authority to choke off the regime's funding streams. In addition to the strike on the Belma, Centcom successfully redirected two other commercial vessels that complied with U.S. instructions.

As the U.S. restores order, shipping traffic through the Strait of Hormuz has plummeted, signaling that the era of Iranian-backed maritime chaos is being met with American strength.
