The Ayatollah's Bloody Purge: Iran Ramps Up Executions to Crush Dissent

The regime in Tehran is executing political opponents and protesters under the guise of national security, proving once again that the mullahs fear their own people.

The Iranian regime continues its brutal campaign of domestic suppression, with UN human rights chief Volker Türk reporting a sharp increase in executions since March. At least 56 individuals have been put to death on national security charges, including 27 linked to the nationwide anti-government protests that erupted in January.

The regime is clearly using the gallows to instill fear and silence those who dare to challenge its authority. Among the recent victims are Omid Behzad and Pouria Safvat, who were executed for allegedly spying for Israel, and Arvin Kheirkhahan, a 19-year-old convicted of 'enmity against God' for his involvement in the unrest.

In a particularly brazen display of state power, Abolfazl Sepahi Badjani and Amirhossein Safari Hosseinabadi were executed in a public square in Isfahan. The regime’s judicial process is a sham, with reports of closed-door hearings lasting only three hours and confessions extracted through torture.

While the UN calls for the abolition of the death penalty, the Iranian government maintains its standard defense that these executions are merely a response to 'severe crimes.' In reality, the regime is simply eliminating political threats to ensure its own survival, continuing a long-standing pattern of state-sponsored violence that ranks Iran as one of the world's most prolific executioners.
