The United Nations Independent International Fact-Finding Mission on Iran has released a report alleging that U.S. military strikes in February constituted war crimes. The report focuses on missile strikes in Minab and Lamerd, claiming these actions were indiscriminate and resulted in civilian casualties. The U.S.

State Department has explicitly rejected the findings, stating that the report lacks credibility. While the UN experts speculate on the origin of the munitions used, the U.S. military has maintained its commitment to avoiding civilian targets, with Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth emphasizing that the military does not target civilians.

The same UN report also documents the Iranian regime's own brutal repression of anti-government protesters, noting that Tehran's security forces engaged in mass killings, torture, and the execution of political dissidents on an unprecedented scale.

Despite the regime's long history of human rights abuses and its role as a state sponsor of terror, the UN mission continues to scrutinize American defensive actions with a level of intensity not matched by its assessment of the Iranian government's systematic violence against its own people.
