President Trump is maintaining a position of strength as negotiations with the Iranian regime stall, making it clear that the United States will not settle for a substandard agreement. While Tehran is clearly feeling the heat of economic pressure, with the President noting they are 'negotiating on fumes,' the current terms on the table are unacceptable.
The White House has already dismissed a purported draft agreement circulated by Iranian state media as a 'complete fabrication,' reaffirming that the U.S. will not be bullied into easing sanctions or ceding control of vital shipping lanes like the Strait of Hormuz.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio confirmed that while there is interest in a resolution, the administration is in no rush to finalize a deal that does not serve American interests.
The President was unequivocal about the alternative: if the regime fails to meet U.S. demands, the military will be ready to 'finish the job.' This follows recent defensive strikes against Iranian missile sites and vessels, which the U.S. carried out to protect its personnel from ongoing threats.
Despite the regime's attempts to paint these necessary defensive actions as violations of a ceasefire, the administration remains focused on neutralizing the threats posed by Iranian forces and ensuring the security of the region.
