Justice has been served in the Lake Chad Basin. In a flawless joint operation, the United States and Nigerian Armed Forces have eliminated Abu-Bilal al-Minuki, a senior Islamic State leader and one of the world's most dangerous terrorists.

President Donald Trump confirmed the mission’s success, hailing the strike as a decisive blow against the Islamic State’s global hierarchy.

Al-Minuki, who was designated a Specially Designated Global Terrorist by Washington in 2023, served as the 'Head of General Directorate of States' and was responsible for orchestrating brutal attacks against civilians and minority communities across the Sahel and West Africa.

The precision strike, which also accounted for several of his lieutenants, proves the effectiveness of the strengthened intelligence-sharing partnership between the U.S. and Nigeria.

This operation dismantles a key node in the terrorist network, disrupting the funding channels and command structures that have fueled extremist violence in the region for years. From his origins as a Boko Haram commander to his rise within the IS ranks, al-Minuki’s reign of terror is finally over.

As President Trump noted, this terrorist will no longer threaten the people of Africa or plot against American interests. This mission serves as a clear reminder that when the United States and its allies act with resolve, the forces of terror are no match for Western strength.
