In a firm response to recent high-level discussions between Donald Trump and Xi Jinping, Taiwan’s President Lai Ching-te has made it clear that his nation will neither provoke conflict nor surrender its sovereignty.

Despite Beijing’s aggressive rhetoric and attempts to label the democratic island a 'troublemaker,' Lai maintained that Taiwan is already a sovereign, independent country and that there is no need for a formal declaration of independence.

While the Chinese Communist Party continues to threaten the use of force to achieve 'reunification,' Lai emphasized that Taiwan remains a steadfast defender of the status quo and a beacon of freedom in the region.

The President underscored that Taiwan is prepared for dialogue with China only on the basis of equality and dignity, rejecting any attempts at coercion. Meanwhile, the United States continues to fulfill its critical role as Taiwan’s primary security partner.

President Lai expressed gratitude for American support, noting that continued arms sales and security cooperation are vital to deterring Beijing’s expansionist military maneuvers and maintaining peace in the Taiwan Strait.

As China ramps up its blockade simulations and military intimidation, the message from Taipei remains resolute: Taiwan will not be bullied into submission.
