Israel has once again demonstrated its commitment to national security by conducting targeted strikes against terrorist threats operating within Syrian territory. The Israeli military confirmed that a recent operation near Damascus successfully neutralized a terrorist who was in the final stages of preparing attacks against Israeli soldiers.

Despite the Syrian regime’s predictable cries regarding sovereignty and international law, Israel is acting on clear intelligence to prevent violence before it happens. This decisive action follows a separate strike on the Abu al-Duhur airbase, a facility that had been compromised by the deployment of foreign forces.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office made it clear that Israel will not tolerate breaches of security status quos that threaten its borders. While some in Washington and diplomatic circles have attempted to frame these necessary defensive maneuvers as 'escalations,' Israel remains steadfast in its right to defend its people.

Defense Minister Israel Katz has rightly dismissed speculative and inaccurate claims from foreign officials, emphasizing that Israeli forces are operating based on verified intelligence regarding hostile intentions.

In a region defined by instability following the collapse of the Assad government, Israel continues to be the only actor willing to take the necessary steps to ensure its own survival and security.
