The Russian military has intensified its campaign against Ukraine by launching drone strikes against two major bridges in Kyiv, the Pivnichnyi and Pivdennyi bridges.
These strikes, which have caused significant damage to road surfaces and trolleybus infrastructure, represent a calculated effort by Moscow to sever critical supply lines across the Dnipro River.
Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko confirmed the attacks, noting that the strikes have hindered movement between the eastern and western parts of the city and created logistical gridlock. Moscow has openly stated that these bridges are being targeted because they serve as vital conduits for the transfer of Ukrainian troops and military cargo.
The Kremlin’s strategy appears aimed at isolating sections of the capital and degrading the nation's ability to maintain internal logistics.
While President Vladimir Putin claims these strikes are a direct response to Ukrainian attacks on Russian oil refineries and energy infrastructure, the conflict continues to escalate with civilian casualties reported in Odesa, Kharkiv, and Dnipropetrovsk.
As the war grinds on, the Russian military is clearly prioritizing the destruction of infrastructure that supports Ukraine's defense efforts, leaving the city’s three million residents facing increasing uncertainty.
