The brutal reality of the Russia-Ukraine war continues to claim lives as both nations ramp up long-range drone strikes. In a fresh wave of violence, Russian drones struck a border crossing at Starokozache, killing two people and forcing the closure of the transit point.

Further attacks in Kyiv and Sumy left four more dead, including a woman in a residential building and three victims at a shopping center. Meanwhile, Russia reported its own casualties, with four people killed in Novorossiysk after a Ukrainian drone strike targeted the Black Sea port.

Ukraine’s military confirmed it successfully struck the Novourengoysky ZPKT, a major oil refinery deep within Russian territory, targeting the fuel supplies that power the Kremlin's war machine. As the death toll rises, Moldovan officials have voiced alarm over the spillover of the conflict, noting a significant increase in drones entering their airspace.

Despite high-level diplomatic outreach from the Trump administration—including recent meetings in Moscow and Kyiv—the Kremlin remains evasive regarding potential peace talks. President Zelensky has rightly called for urgent international resolve, emphasizing that the Russian aggression must be halted before it destabilizes the region further.
