Israel has launched a decisive response against Hezbollah, with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz ordering strikes on the terror group's stronghold in the Dahieh suburb of Beirut.
The action comes as a direct consequence of Hezbollah’s persistent rocket and drone attacks on Israeli civilians and its blatant disregard for the ceasefire agreement established in April.
Defense Minister Katz issued a clear ultimatum, stating that the Dahieh will face the same reality as northern Israel: if there is no peace for Israeli citizens, there will be no calm in Beirut. As the Israeli military continues its efforts to neutralize the Iran-backed threat, thousands have begun fleeing the area.
While international diplomats and the Lebanese government scramble to negotiate, the reality remains that Hezbollah initiated this conflict to serve its Iranian patrons, dragging Lebanon into a war that has resulted in significant territorial gains for Israeli forces, including the strategic capture of Beaufort Castle.
Despite the ongoing diplomatic theater in Washington, Israel has made it clear that it will not allow its citizens to remain under constant fire while the international community demands restraint.
The Israeli military continues to target Hezbollah’s military infrastructure, asserting its sovereign right to defend its borders and eliminate the existential threat posed by the terrorist organization.
