The conflict in Ukraine continues to escalate, with Russian forces launching a daylight drone strike on a shopping center in Pavlohrad that left five people dead and 67 wounded.

Interior Minister Ivan Vyhivskyi confirmed the attack occurred while the streets were crowded, marking the third time in a week that Russian air strikes have targeted retail hubs, following similar incidents in Zaporizhzhia and Sumy. Regional governor Oleksandr Hanzha reported that eight children were among the 67 injured in the Pavlohrad attack.

Ukrainian officials, including President Volodymyr Zelensky and Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha, have condemned the strikes as a calculated tactic of coercion intended to exhaust the Ukrainian populace. This latest violence comes as peace initiatives led by U.S. envoys have failed to produce tangible results following meetings in both Moscow and Kyiv.

Meanwhile, the conflict continues to spread, with Russia reporting Ukrainian drone attacks on the resort city of Sochi, resulting in 28 injuries, and further casualties reported in Belgorod and Russian-controlled territories. As the war drags on, the human cost continues to climb on both sides, with no clear end in sight to the hostilities.
