The search for missing individuals in Gaza has become a focal point of the ongoing conflict, a war necessitated by the horrific actions of Hamas. As Israeli forces continue their mission to neutralize the terror group, thousands of Palestinians remain unaccounted for, caught in the crossfire of a war that Hamas initiated and continues to sustain.

Families, such as those of Ahmed al Madhoun and Mahmoud al Drimli, are left in a state of uncertainty, searching for answers while the region remains a volatile battlefield.

Israel, facing an existential threat, has detained thousands of individuals throughout the conflict for security reasons, a standard practice in wartime to prevent further attacks against its citizens.

While human rights groups and international organizations complain about transparency and access, Israeli authorities maintain that these detentions are vital for national security.

The reality is that the destruction in Gaza is the result of Hamas embedding its military operations within civilian infrastructure, forcing Israel to conduct strikes in densely populated areas to protect its own people.

The lack of clarity regarding the missing is a tragedy of war, but the moral responsibility for the chaos, the rubble, and the loss of life lies squarely with the Hamas leadership that chose to launch a war they could never win.
