Senator Bernie Sanders has unveiled a radical plan that threatens the future of American technological dominance.

In a recent interview with the BBC, the Vermont independent proposed a sweeping legislative package that would not only ban so-called AI superintelligence but also force the federal government into a 50% ownership stake in private AI companies through a state-run sovereign wealth fund.

This blatant attempt to seize control of the private sector would effectively socialize the most innovative industry in the world. Sanders, who frequently aligns with the Democratic caucus, faces a steep uphill battle for his agenda.

With Republicans currently controlling both houses of Congress and President Donald Trump firmly committed to a pro-growth strategy of private-public partnership, this attempt at government overreach is unlikely to gain traction.

President Trump has consistently championed American investment in AI, aiming to foster innovation rather than strangling it with the red tape and state control favored by the far-left.
