This latest escalation, described by Mayor Vitaly Klitschko as the most massive attack on the capital to date, saw 74 missiles and 496 drones launched, forcing over 52,000 residents to seek shelter in metro stations. The strikes hit a wide range of locations, including an ambulance station, a kindergarten, and residential apartment blocks.
Moscow, through Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, claimed the strikes were retaliation for Ukrainian attacks on Russian infrastructure and vowed to continue increasing pressure on the Kyiv regime to achieve its strategic objectives.
