The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have launched a series of targeted strikes against Hamas military infrastructure across Gaza, including Gaza City, Khan Younis, and Deir el-Balah.

These operations successfully neutralized high-value targets, including a commander from the elite Nukbha force and a leader from the Maghazi Battalion, both of whom were actively planning attacks against Israeli citizens.

While international observers point to a proposed disarmament plan overseen by a U.S.-backed Board of Peace, Israeli officials remain rightfully skeptical of Hamas’s commitment to surrender its arsenal.

Israeli Energy Minister Eli Cohen has made the government’s position clear: there is no deal to halt military operations, and the strip may require full Israeli control if Hamas refuses to disarm.

Despite the rhetoric surrounding a 20-point peace roadmap and the theoretical handover of weapons to a committee of technocrats, Hamas—a designated terror organization—continues to operate as a hostile entity. Israel’s refusal to gamble its national security on the word of terrorists is a necessary stance.

As the IDF continues to dismantle the infrastructure used to threaten the Jewish state, it is evident that the only path to security is the total degradation of Hamas’s ability to wage war, regardless of the diplomatic theater being staged in Cairo.
